Did You Know? Dancers May Be Good At Partying, But They’re Also Better At Communicating.
Starlord @prattprattpratt has new competition.
Dancing is the best way to communicate. When bees find themselves overpopulated, they will try to relocate just like humans. (It’s just we aim for places like mars instead🚀) First, experienced bees would start scouting new hives and locations that are ideal. However, in order to communicate with a whole bunch of insects, you gotta be more creative. Bees don’t speak any insect languages, but they sure have big butts.😂 (and they cannot lie) When they’ve decided on a good hive to move into, they’d go home and wiggle like crazy to let everyone know — it’s time. 🕺💃
Other bees would see this as a suggestion and check out the new location for themselves. If more and more bees turn out to like the new spot, there would be a disco party right in the hives to celebrate🎉. This is how bees reach an agreement to make the next move — they dance it out.
Even though this seems like another animal fact, we got something more important to say: communication comes in different forms. Whether it’s the election or global warming, there are ways to put our voices out. Fortunately, dancing is on the list too. It doesn’t always have to be a dance battle that decides who’s king. Swing, modern dance, salsa are all beautiful types of dances that we developed to show meanings. Most of the time, dance is the most incredible language we can use to make others understand us.
It’s not just moving into new hives. When bees discover good honey, they turn up the party like the grownups are out of town. They also just wanna make sure it’s loud, so everyone else knows. Check for yourselves in the video below.
On the other hand, we’d like to take a minute and appreciate modern dance. It’s really not that abstract as you thought. Modern dance today is defined as “a form of contemporary theatrical and concert dance employing a special technique for developing the entire body’s use in movements expressive of abstract ideas.” In short, anyone can use their whole body dancing to express ideas and emotions.
We often look too hard when we’re at modern dance performances. Really, we just need to feel everything, if that makes sense. Because only you know what you feel. And it doesn’t matter what the critics say or what your friends think. It’s all up to you.
