Who’s your daddy!?

There’s a reason why most of our felines are neutered — they are too good at making babies. In fact, female cats can stay horny for so long you can finish an entire K-drama series.

Speaking of K-dramas, the cats are game on.

Because plot twist — the preggo mamas can be having kids from more than one dad. WTH?

Unlike humans or dogs, a cat’s fertility needs to be pleased. It doesn’t come on a monthly schedule. Rather, females produce eggs around 12–24 hours after aroused and stimulated by a male. (Bonus animal sex fact: did you know a cat’s penis is barbed with tiny hooks? Yikes!)

Kinky? Well, it goes crazier from here. A horny female cat can get down with more than one rascal. If all sperms are active, the female can bear kittens from both fathers.

Superfecundation is the word you want to look up.

Of course, kittens come in different patterns and colors. But now we can legitimately question if they have the same dad. Because it’s also popular in the cat world to just ditch your kids and be out hunting. The cute kitties you see are often born with a mystery.
